“EMPOWERING, INSPIRING AND EDUCATING YOUTH”
Opportunities for Djiboutian Youth (OFDY) is the first 100 % online youth-led platform dedicated to upskilling and empowering young people through five key areas: civic leadership, education, advocacy, sustainable development initiatives and mentorship.
Created by youth for youth, OFDY collaborates with young changemakers worldwide (154 countries) to cultivate an environment conducive to achieving a sustainable and resilient future by 2030. With a focus on youth engagement, OFDY offers an online platform to educate young people and to address the challenges outlined in the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Through humanistic and critical thinking, our network promotes advocacy, education, and practical initiatives to foster equitable global communities and create more sustainable societies. Since its inception in 2022, Opportunities for Djiboutian Youth (OFDY) has been at the forefront of promoting advocacy, education, and practical initiatives aimed at fostering equitable global communities and creating more sustainable societies. Our approach combines humanistic and critical thinking to address the complex challenges facing young people today. To date, we have successfully launched the Global Youth Empowerment and Mentorship (GYEM) program, which has engaged over 1,500 participants from 154 countries and garnered a following of more than 2,000 individuals.
We are preparing to launch the Global Changemakers Advocates program, which will build on the momentum of the GYEM program. This new initiative aims to further expand our efforts by offering more opportunities for young people to engage in advocacy, influence policy, and address the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through these programs, OFDY continues to make a significant impact, supporting young leaders as they work towards creating a more just and sustainable world.
The platform brings together young change-makers and encourages meaningful participation from young people to help realize a future where all youth are well-informed, economically empowered, and actively engaged in global development issues, regardless of their background, gender, or social status.
Our platform aims to feature networking, online program, courses in various subjects, talks on youth empowerment with our Global Changemakers Ambassadors, annual summits, and an active online platform for robust dialogue.
