EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
Opportunities for Djiboutian Youth (OFDY) supports young people in creating opportunities and transforming their communities as leaders, changemakers, and community builders. By nurturing proactive and informed young leaders, we aim to foster positive social, economic, and environmental changes, creating inclusive, fair, and sustainable communities that contribute to the global sustainable development of our societies.
Our empowerment program emphasizes civic engagement, encouraging youth to actively participate in democratic processes, advocate for their rights and the rights of others, and engage in community service.
We also focus on leadership and entrepreneurship, providing young people with the skills and knowledge to lead initiatives, drive innovation, and create their own economic opportunities. Through targeted initiatives and mentorship, we equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to address societal challenges, influence policy, and lead initiatives that drive progress in their communities. By doing so, OFDY ensures that the next generation of leaders is well-prepared to build a better future for all.

Our “Global Changemakers Advocate” program empowers young people to advocate for their rights and the rights of others, providing them with the tools and platforms to raise awareness, influence policy, and drive social change. By addressing the challenges outlined in the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), youth are positioned to contribute to a more equitable and just world. Civic Engagement: We are a youth-led platform devoted to enhancing and empowering youth through civic leadership, education, advocacy, mentorship and sustainable development initiatives. Our platform provides the youth with an opportunity to bring about a sustainable and scalable change by working along the lines of 17 UN SDGs.
Education: Acknowledging the urgent need to amplify young voices and contributions within society, we are dedicated to bridging the gap by offering modules and courses on various subjects, such as leadership, SDGs, entrepreneurship, gender equity, mental health, democracy and peacebuilding, civic engagement, and community building. By providing these diverse educational opportunities, we ensure that young people have access to the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives. Our Programs and Initiatives
Our virtual program Global Youth Empowerment and Mentorship Program provide comprehensive educational courses covering Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leadership, entrepreneurship, career and personal development, gender equity, youth empowerment as changemakers, community building, democracy, and peacebuilding. OFDY collaborates with young people and changemakers worldwide to cultivate an environment conducive to achieving a sustainable and resilient future by 2030.
Our “Global Changemakers Advocate” program is designed to empower young people to become proactive advocates for their rights and the rights of others. This program equips youth with essential tools and platforms to effectively raise awareness about critical issues, influence policy decisions, and drive meaningful social change. By providing training in advocacy strategies, public speaking, and media engagement, we enable young advocates to articulate their concerns and mobilize support for important causes.
